Known simply as "The Bear," Don Haskins transformed college basketball through his extraordinary career at UTEP. Over more than three decades, he built one of the nation's most respected programs, finishing with a remarkable 719–353record while developing countless student-athletes into successful professionals and leaders.
Beyond his legendary success at UTEP, Haskins served as an assistant coach for the 1972 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team and mentored future NBA standouts, including Nate Archibald, Tim Hardaway, and Antonio Davis. His leadership, integrity, and groundbreaking impact on the game earned him induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, securing his place among basketball's all-time greats.
